Terms of Service
In effect from
These terms are the agreement between you and NetLink when you buy a WiFi voucher, with or without an account. Buying a voucher or creating an account means you accept them.
On this page
The short version
- A voucher works on the WiFi of the one hostel you bought it for, and nowhere else.
- Its clock starts the first time you sign in with it, and keeps running whether or not you are connected.
- It ends when either its time or its data runs out, whichever comes first.
- The price at checkout is the whole price. We add no fees.
- If something goes wrong, our Refund Policy says what you get back.
This summary helps you find your way. The full text below is what applies.
1. Who this agreement is with
NetLink is a business based at No 14 Tunde Idiagbon Street, Kulende Estate, Ilorin, Kwara State. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean NetLink, and “you” means the person buying or using a voucher.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accept these terms for you before you buy or sign up. How we handle your personal data is in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
2. How a voucher works
A voucher is a code that lets devices use the WiFi at one hostel for a set time, up to a set amount of data. Each plan’s time, data and device limits are shown before you pay. These rules apply to every voucher:
- One hostel only. A voucher is created on the network of the hostel you chose, and cannot work at any other hostel.
- The clock starts on first sign-in. An unused voucher does not expire while it waits. Once you sign in, its time runs continuously, including while your devices are switched off or out of range.
- Time or data, whichever runs out first. The voucher stops at the end of its time even if data is left, and stops when its data is used even if time is left.
- A set number of devices. Only as many devices as the plan allows can be connected with one voucher at the same time.
- Keep your code private. Anyone holding your code can use your data. We cannot tell your devices from someone else’s who has the code.
You can check what is left on a voucher at any time on the balance page.
3. Prices and paying
Prices are in naira and are the full amount you pay. We add no card, transfer or service fees. A hostel can set its own prices, so the same plan may cost a different amount at a different hostel.
Payments are taken by Paystack, or Flutterwave when Paystack is unavailable, on their own secure pages. When the payment succeeds, your code is shown on screen and sent to the email you gave. If it has not arrived within 2 hours, contact us and we will send it or refund you.
4. Your account
You do not need an account to buy a voucher. If you make one, you agree to:
- give an email and phone number that are yours, and keep them up to date
- keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has it
- hold one account per phone number
You can ask us to close your account at any time by writing to support@netlink.com.ng.
5. Using the network
You must not use a voucher or the network to:
- do anything illegal under Nigerian law
- attack, scan or interfere with the network, its equipment or other people on it
- get around a voucher’s time, data or device limits
- guess, collect or use voucher codes that were not sold to you
- get into anyone else’s account or devices
Using the network for any of these can lead to your voucher or account being suspended, as set out in section 10.
6. Speed and outages
The WiFi at each hostel depends on a satellite or fibre internet link, mains power, and access points in the building. Speed varies with the number of people online, the weather and your device, so we do not promise a particular speed.
We do not promise the network will never go down. If a hostel is offline for 6 hours or more in a row while your voucher is running, you are owed the lost time. The Refund Policy explains how.
7. Hostel operators
Each hostel is run by an operator, an independent business that provides the building’s internet connection and WiFi equipment and receives a share of sales. We run the software and the controller that manages that equipment. You buy your voucher from us, not from the operator, so we answer to you for it: questions, problems and refunds come to us.
8. Refunds
When you can get money back, and how to ask, is in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
9. What we are responsible for
We are responsible for selling you a working voucher and for the credits and refunds our Refund Policy describes. Beyond that, if something goes wrong with the service, the most we owe you is the price you paid for the voucher in question.
Some events are outside our control: a national power failure, damage to a hostel, or an outage at our internet provider. For those, what we owe you is the credit in the Refund Policy and nothing more. We are not responsible for what you do online, or for devices you connect. Nothing here limits a responsibility that Nigerian law does not allow a business to limit.
10. Suspending a voucher or account
We can suspend a voucher or account that is being used against section 5, or to protect the network or other people on it. Unless the law or an investigation prevents it, we tell you why and how to ask us to reconsider. A voucher suspended for misuse is not refunded.
11. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. We email everyone with an account at least 14 days before a change that affects them. A voucher you have already bought stays under the terms in force when you bought it.
12. Disputes and the law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, contact us first and give us the chance to put it right. If we cannot agree, the courts of Kwara State hear the dispute. You can also complain to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at fccpc.gov.ng.
